🔑 Arrival & Departure

From what time can I check in, and when do I need to check out?

You are very welcome to check in from 15:00. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to leave the property before 11:00, so we can get the cottage spick and span for the next guests.

Very flexibly and simply! There is a handy key safe at the front door. Before your arrival, we will send you the code so you can check in independently at your own convenience from 15:00.

This may sometimes be possible by arrangement. Please contact us in writing in advance – an additional charge may apply.

To give you the best opportunity to truly unwind and enjoy the surroundings, we require a minimum stay of two nights.

🏡 Facilities & Comfort

Is the holiday home suitable for year-round use?

Absolutely. The property is equipped with comfortable underfloor heating, making it wonderfully cosy even during the autumn and winter months.

Yes, there is a small wood-burning stove available for extra atmosphere and warmth. As safety is our top priority, its use is only permitted if you can demonstrate prior experience with operating wood-burning stoves.

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire property. In the living room you will also find a smart TV with an internet connection and various apps, so you won’t have to miss your favourite series.

On the upper floor you will find two comfortable single beds, which are already made up with fresh bed linen upon your arrival. There is also a spacious wardrobe available.

🍽️ Kitchen & Bathroom

What facilities are available in the kitchen?

The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, a combi-oven, a dishwasher, a fridge-freezer, and a kettle. For coffee lovers, a Senseo machine is also at your disposal.

Yes, bed linen and a basic linen set are included in the price. The quantity depends on the length of your stay:

  • 2 nights: 1 kitchen set & 1 towel set (for 2 persons).
  • Midweek (4 nights): 2 kitchen sets & 2 towel sets (for 2 persons).
  • Week (7 nights): 3 kitchen sets & 3 towel sets (for 2 persons).

Certainly. If you need an extra set, these are available on-site for €5.00 per set (cash payment preferred).

Yes, a hairdryer is available for you in the wardrobe in the bedroom.

🚫 Rules & Safety

How many guests can stay at the property?

De Lytse Wâldpleats is set up for a maximum of 2 guests. Additional overnight guests are not permitted without our prior written consent.

Although we are great animal lovers, pets are not permitted at De Lytse Wâldpleats. This also allows us to keep the property optimally clean and allergy-friendly.

No, the house is completely smoke-free. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside.

Outside, smoking is allowed, as long as cigarette butts and trash are properly disposed of in the designated ashtrays.

For your and our safety, the holiday home is equipped with approved smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher.

🌲 Local Area & Activities

Where can I park?

You won’t need to look for a parking spot: you have your own dedicated parking space right next to the holiday home.

You’re in luck! Our immediate neighbours are Meinsma Fietsen. You can easily hire bikes there to explore the area, or visit them for any repairs.

  • Dining: Just 800 metres away is Hotel-Restaurant De Stripe, where you can enjoy a lovely dinner or order takeaway meals.

  • Groceries: In Wijnjewoude itself you will find a local convenience store. For a larger supermarket, Bakkeveen is just 3 km away. A range of shops and restaurants can also be found in Oosterwolde, Beetsterzwaag and Drachten.

Nature lovers will be in their element. Across the road lies the Duurswouderheide heathland, and from the back of the property you can walk straight into ‘t Oude Bosch (with the Freulevijver pond) or the forest of the Slotpleats. For culture, shopping and larger swimming pools or theatres, Beetsterzwaag, Oosterwolde and Drachten are all a short distance away.

💳 Bookings & Cancellations

How does the security deposit work, and when is my booking confirmed?

The security deposit is €250,- and must be paid in advance. Your booking is confirmed once we have received the full payment (the rental amount plus the deposit).

After your departure we typically refund the deposit within 5 business days, provided no damage has been identified and the property has been left clean and complete.

Should your plans unexpectedly change, the following conditions apply:

  • Up to 14 days before arrival: Free cancellation. You will receive a full refund of both the rental amount and the deposit.
  • Up to 7 days before arrival: You will receive 50% of the rental amount back, plus a full refund of the deposit.
  • Within 7 days of arrival: No refund of the rental amount will be issued, but the deposit will of course be returned in full.

Please report it as soon as possible, and in any case while you are still staying with us, so we can look for a solution together. Complaints reported after your departure unfortunately cannot be processed. The full complaints procedure is set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Any damage that occurs during your stay will, where possible, be deducted from the security deposit. Damage exceeding the deposit amount will be charged to you separately. Please report damage as soon as possible, and no later than at check-out. Full details are set out in our Terms and Conditions.

How do you handle my personal data?

We only use your data to process your booking and stay, in accordance with the GDPR. We never sell your data to third parties. To handle bookings and payments, we share necessary data with parties such as the booking platform and our payment processor (Stripe); for marketing or a newsletter, we only do so with your explicit consent.
